With the failure of the US judicial system to stop the NDAA, not only has Obama recanted his promises NOT to use the act on US Citizens, he has responded indignantly by U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest’s permanent injunction against section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act. Forrest has said that the NDAA “violates the First and Fifth Amendments” and “fails to pass constitutional muster and that the legislation had a “chilling impact on First Amendment rights.”
